Board Game Template - Pixel World [Fully Editable]

This large (A3-sized) pixel/8-bit style board game is fully editable. There are a variety of different spaces already set which make for a really interesting game - I’d say much more exciting than your regular Snakes and Ladders style game. The second and third pages of this resource are the question cards which you can easily create to fit with any topic. When the player lands on the question mark space, they select a question card and if they answer correctly they may roll again. I’ve also included a variety of 8-bit style characters that you could print off to use as player pieces. All you really need to play is a printer and a die. You could even project it and play it that way! I personally print and laminate a number of copies so groups of 3-4 can play together. My children really love to play this. It’s a fun and naturally competitive way to review the content at the end of a unit. I hope your students also enjoy it! If they do, please kindly leave a review. Thank you!

Fractions Art [Designed for Online]

This art/maths crossover is designed to be used online as a Google Doc. It could still be printed out though. It’s made up of a 10x10 grid in which children have to create a pattern or picture (with the Google Doc background changer) using six different colours. Once they have created their art, the second job is to identify the fractions of each of the colours they used in making it. It’s a fun way to connect maths and art and let’s the children create pixel type art. Expect a lot of Minecraft related stuff to be handed in! Finally, it’s great for use in Google Classroom where every child gets their own copy. You can then easily check their individual progress live and then check their results.

Table or Pixel Art Using Microsoft Word

This is a standalone activity I do in ICT to help chidlren learn how to create tables tables in Microsoft Word, select cells and shade cells with different colours. The children could even add text to a cell as part of the art or merge cells. In this document are four ready made examples of what sort of table/pixel art they could create whilst mastering these skills. You could provide them as examples or even provide the table outline as a template for the children to work on, although if they’re able to, it’s better to have them create their own table.

Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphics - Coded Message Activity

Great introduction to hieroglyphics for the children when studying about Ancient Egypt. The first part of the worksheet can be used as a race to see who can translate the hieroglyphs the fastest. The font is also included so you can change the message as you please. The second part of the worksheet includes the cypher and a space for the children to create their own sentence using hieroglyphs. *The files included in this download are a fully editable DOC and a PDF version of the same. *
